Father Mcgivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intersession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney

Dear Sister Columbiettes,

I hope you all had a wonderful February and Valentine's day. We are getting ready for a busy spring, beginning with the Victorian Tea on May 5th and the Friendship Night on May 7th. We are looking for new items for the Victorian Tea Chinese Auction, which is always a big hit with everyone attending.

This year we are hosting the Annual Friendship Night being held at Sunset Harbor in E. Patchogue. We are collecting teacups and saucers for thank you gifts for the attendees. Each teacup will have a small assortment of specialty teas. We are asking every Columbiette to please bring a box of specialty tea from Twinings, Bigelow, etc. to fill the cups. Currently we have about 50 sets of teacups, but we are short 75 sets. Nancy Elliott will be keeping count of all the sets. We appreciate all you can do to help make these events a success. Our next meeting is March 20, at 7 pm, we hope to see you all there.

We are wishing everyone a Blessed Lenten and Easter season.

Happy Birthday to all the March Babies.

God Bless,

Marsha Laakmann, President
